WHY STUDY MD/MS IN ABROAD?

Study for postgraduate degrees in India become expensive, when you don’t secure good marks in your NEET-PG  exams, it becomes costly, due to the capitation fee, but, when you choose a foreign country to study MBBS, they not only save so much money as there is no as such fees but, rather than that you get a new experience with your studies with the world-class infrastructure of college and can get a chance to interact with international patients and other medical-related contacts. And for that, you just have to clear the NEET-PG Exam. 

The candidates who have completed their MBB from abroad or in India, and wish to complete their MD/MS degree abroad can get admission in MD/MS courses in abroad in many top medical colleges or universities there at low cost in comparison to India.

The duration of the MBBS course differs with the country you choose in some countries In some countries, the duration of MBBS is 3 years. After passing the NEXT exam you will get a Provisional certificate by which you will be able to do 12 months internship/ clinical rotation in any hospital in India which are registered with NMC (former name MCI) and after that, you will get the permanent license to practice medicine India.

In India, students take Medical PG entrance exam for 2-3 times. But many of them drop their dreams of pursuing medical PG. So, there is a great opportunity for Indian Students who wish to study MD/MS abroad, can get the field of their choice by taking up Medical PG Abroad

MD (DOCTOR OF MEDICINE)

Doctor of Medicine, commonly known as MD, is a postgraduate degree where graduates study medicine in detail. It is a three-year course with six academic semesters that trains medical graduates in the study field of prevention and the treatment of diseases. Someone who holds an MBBS degree is eligible to pursue an MD degree to gain knowledge on a specialization of their choice, like; Gynecology, Cardiology, Dermatology, etc.   

MS (DOCTOR OF SURGERY)

The master of surgery (MS) is a postgraduate medical qualification degree. It is a three-year program designed for aspirants to gain comprehensive knowledge and skills in surgical training. Candidates who are pursuing an MS degree will get the advancement of deeper research and training in the field of Medical Science. The course of MS provides all necessary and scientific knowledge to become a surgeon in their respective specialized area. MS degree includes the study about common diseases along with the study and method to diagnose it with proper treatment.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Every candidate should have an MBBS degree from a university recognized by MCI.
  • Candidate must have completed one-year compulsory rotatory internship
  • The candidate should have obtained permanent registration with the MCI.
  • Qualified NEET-PG.

WHAT IS NEET-PG?

The NEET-PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate) is a qualifying and ranking exam in India for students who wish to study for their Postgraduate Degree like; MD & MS in govt. or private Colleges in India,  and also for those who are intending to pursue their Postgraduate Degree From abroad.

(In 2020 there are 1.67 lakh students registered for the NEET-PG exam but only 0. 89 lakh have successfully qualified for the exam. The pass percentile is overall 55.65%)

NEXT/FMGE

Till now FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduates Examination) was mandatory for the students who completed their MBBS degree from abroad, but, now onwards it will also mandatory for those students who have completed their MBBS degree from India. But, now NEXT (National Exit Test) will be a single-window examination that will replace FMGE hence, the exam will be mandatory from the year 2022 for Indian graduates as well as foreign graduates, the students will pass the NEXT  exam and do their Internship, and the NEXT exam also will be used as allotment of PG seats in Govt. and private medical College in India.

The NEXT will comprise of two parts theory (NEXT-1) and Practical (NEXT-2) in theory exam questions will be in online mode in MCQ format.

  • The NEXT exam will be conducted twice a year.
  • The passing criteria of the exam are 150 out of 300 marks and there is no negative marking.
